1) सकता था–
Hypothetical Case {Not possible to happen anymore}
It looks similar to one
of the usage of COULD; but there’s a difference:
COULD is used to express
one’s ability, whereas COULD HAVE is used to talk about the things that didn’t
really happen in the past.
जब मैं जवान था तो मैं एक दिन में 5 किलोमीटर दौड़ सकता
था।
I could run 5 kms a day
when I was young. {ABILITY}
जब मैं जवान था तब मैं जिम ज्वॉइन कर
सकता था।
I could have joined a
gym when I was young. {HYPOTHETICAL CASE}
मैं मौका चूक गया। मैं उस दिन उनके
प्रस्ताव को स्वीकार कर सकता था।
I missed a chance. I
could have accepted his offer that day. {HYPOTHETICAL CASE}
रवि एमबीए में शामिल हो सकता था, लेकिन उसने मौका खो
दिया।
Ravi could have joined
MBA, but he just missed this opportunity. {HYPOTHETICAL CASE}
