Socilisim in Europe and The Russian Revolution

 

In 19th centuries three types of people thought was develop

11.Liberals

2 2.Radicals 

3.Conservatives

 

LIBERALS

( upper middle class family )

 

1.               Liberals looked to change society

2.               They wanted tolerance(Acceptance) towards all religions

3.               In 19th and 20th century the Europe was dominated(to be more powerful) by Christianity

4.               Liberals opposed absolute(complete) powers enjoyed by most of the monarchs(king) in Europe

5.               Liberals believed that individuals rights should be protected against government

6.               They advocate(support) democracy set up of government

7.               They favoured a well trained autonomous(freedom ) judiciary (judge of a country or state)

However they were not democrats ?

Because They cannot be called democrats as they did not favour universal adult franchise (Right to vote) and wanted only men with property should have right to vote

RADICALS

( lower middle class family )

1.               They supported women’s rights and organized the various suffragette movements .(voting right, hold political position)

2.               They disliked the concentration( large amount ) of property in the hands of few people

3.               They wanted a government which must be based on majority

4.               They opposed the privileges(a special right ) of great landowners and wealthy , factory owner

CONSERVATIVES

(Royal family )

1.               Initially They opposed the view of radicals and liberals.

2.               After the French revolution, conservatives felt the need for change.

3.               By the 19th century, conservatives accepted that some change was necessary, but believed that the past had to be respected
